  1. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The main purpose of this research is to determine the role of supply chain management & operation at Continental India Private Limited. In current Business scenario Supply Chain Management is very big and major problem for the retail industry and as Indian organized retail industry. The second part of my problem is Damages/wastages of inventory which is more important than shortages because when any inventory is damaged then there is both financial loss either for vendor or to company and also shortage for that damaged inventory in the store and other problem in organized retail in India is logistics.

Methodology:  Primary Data

 

Method you will use to present data: Classification & tabulation transforms the raw data will be collected through questionnaire in to useful information by organizing and compiling the bits of data contained in each questionnaire i.e., observation and responses are converted in to understandable and orderly statistics are used to organize and analyze the data: • Simple tabulation of data using tally marks. • Calculating the percentage of the responses. • Formula used = (name of responses / total responses) * 100 REPORT WRITING AND PRESENTATION Report Encompasses – Charts, diagrams

 

Method you will use to classify data: PRIMARY DATA: Most of the information will be gathered through primary sources’. The methods that will be used to collect primary data are: a) Questionnaire b) Interview SECONDARY DATA: The secondary data will be collected through:, internet, Magazines, Journals and Text Book

Explanation of the method: Research methodology in a way is a written game plan for conducting research. Research methodology has many dimensions.   

METHODOLOGY ADOPTED:- This research is aimed at studying the  Supply Chain Management & Operation at Continental India Private Limited   .

RESEARCH DESIGN:-  The research design will be  used in this study is both ‘Descriptive’ and ‘exploratory’.

SAMPLING TECHNIQUE:

The selection of respondents will be done on the basis of convenience sampling (Non- Probability).

STASTICAL TOOLS:

MS-EXCEL will be used to prepare pie- charts and graphs and MS-WORD will be used to prepare or write the whole project report.

 

 

  1. COMPANY PROFILE

Continental India Private Limited (Formerly known as “Continental India Limited”) was founded on July 15, 2011 when Modi Tyres Company Private Limited was acquired by Continental.

Continental develops intelligent technologies for transporting people and their goods. In 2015, the corporation generated sales of €39.2 billion with its five divisions, Chassis & Safety, Interior, Power train, Tires, and ContiTech.

The Continental’s plant at Modipuram in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh in India manufactures tyres for buses and trucks while tubes are manufactured at Partapur plant which is located at a distance of about 20 kilometers from Modipuram plant.

Having a Human Capital of 1300, Continental India Private Limited manufactures BIAS and Radial  Tyres for Buses/Trucks and Radial Tyres for passenger cars.
