 A STUDY OF PROMOTION AND REWARD POLICY IN STATE BANK OF INDIA

 

  1. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

 

Rewards is one of the important elements to motivate employees for contributing their best effort to generate innovation ideas that lead to better business functionality and further improvise company performance both financial and non-financially. This study involves intrinsic and extrinsic rewards as independent variables. In independent variable extrinsic reward includes three dimensions such as basic pay, merit pay and performance bonus. As for the intrinsic reward, it includes four dimensions such as recognition, learning opportunity, challenging work and career advancement. Employee motivation is one of the most essential parts in a company’s development and success. In order to maximize the overall performance of the company it is vital for and success. Employer to understand what motivates the employees and how to increase their job satisfaction. Today an organizations result is highly dependent on the employees work motivation. It is therefore important for a company to find out what motivates its employees so that it can plan a suitable reward system and gain better results. Reward system usually means the financial reward on organization gives its employees in return for their labour.  Its help to reduce the level of stress that arises from feeling of inequality on reward and culture of high performance. Reward people fairly and consistently according to their contribution and values to the organization and Help to achieve continuous improvement in levels of quality and customer service.

 

  1. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

Objectives:

  1. To determine why promotion and reward policy in State Bank of India, Lucknow.
  2. To determine if there is a relationship between promotion and policy employees motivation and satisfaction.
  3. To determine the impact of promotion and rewards on motivation and satisfaction of the employees in State Bank of India.

 

4  RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

METHODOLOGY ADOPTED:

This research will be aimed at studying the impact of promotion and rewards policy in an organization.

 RESEARCH DESIGN:

The first step in developing any sample design is to clearly define the set of objects, as my study is exploratory, the sampling design includes three decisions i.e. sampling unit, Sample size & Sampling procedure.

 METHOD WILL USE TO CLASSIFY DATA:

The data will be collected using both by primary data collection methods as well as secondary sources.

 

DATA COLLECTION APPROACH

The base on which a study rests is the information that is embedded in it. The data for this study will be obtained as a blend of both Secondary and Primary sources.

PRIMARY DATA: Most of the information will be gathered through primary source.  The methods that will be collected primary data are:

 CONVENIENT SAMPLING: it is that type of sampling where the researcher selects the sample according to his or her convenience.

 

TOOL OF ANALYSIS:

 Data collection will be done through questionnaire. The Ms-Word and Excel software will be used to analyze the data. Different types of graphs & Charts use to interpretation the findings diagrammatically. They are:
